THE RED FLAG LAW THAT IS DESPERATELY NEEDED

KILLER-RED-FLAGThere is little or no doubt in my mind that the progressive communist democrats are incentivizing the destruction of morals, ethics, religion, tradition, and our most trusted institutions.

It is they who have created a group of dissatisfied, disaffected, and disillusioned young men who have lost touch with reality and see media promote horrific acts for ratings. Dead, dying, or injured people are viewed abstractly as if they exist in a video game.

I believe the problem with the increasing rate of mass murder has little to do with gun control and everything to do with the realization that something in our culture is creating a generation of flawed, disaffected young males. Many of them are medicated to avoid dangerous psychological ailments and suicidal ideation. And woe to the world when they stop taking the meds they may intensely dislike.

It appears, at least to me, that the culture shift attributed can be attributed to the progressive communist democrats, their media propagandists, and the tech industry -- all having a  profound sociological and psychological effect on today's young men.

They are affecting everything from their perceived sexual orientation, artificial restrictions and limitations on their natural behaviors, their technology-driven isolation from human interaction in favor of electronic devices, and the creation of alternate realities where Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms are accepted as being representations of reality. These young men look at the one percent of top influencers on Instagram with their hot girlfriends, cars, clothing, and toys and become dissatisfied because these accouterments are not within their reach.

They are not so much educated as indoctrinated, primarily by progressive women, and are ill-served when facing street life's realities. They are promised equity, inclusion, and a path to the good life. They still can't get a girlfriend or anything resembling "the good life—a situation guaranteed to produce anger at themselves and society at large.

The toys might be present for those with wealthier parents, but often the parents are absent. The father is working, and the mother is doing "good works" with her vapid friends.

It's even worse for those who are wards of the state, living in single-parent homes, or involved in the drama and activism of an unconventional household.

They are desensitized to violence. They are distracted, undisciplined, and disoriented. They may have been given psychotropic drugs or indulged in street drugs, not to get high but to alleviate the pain of their existence.

Is it any wonder they act out?

Unlike my youth when every parent on the block treated you the same as their children, these young men are surrounded by a community that doesn't give a damn as everyone is too busy with their own lives.

The progressives shun religion. The progressives ignore tradition. The progressives corrupt stabilizing institutions with their regressive Marxist ideology and calls for revolution.

Young men are expected to behave like obedient young girls -- frightened by bad words and obscene gestures.

Bottom line...

Progressive communist democrats are corrupt and evil, destroying our nation, culture, and society. They must be stopped.

Many young men today are a conflicted and tormented group, living in a bubble of their own making, and confusing online life with reality.

Gun control is not the answer. We must fundamentally re-think what we have allowed to happen with today's young men and reverse course—rejecting liberalism for a return to more conservative times.

What's left if you are a 120-pound, freakish-looking young male who is a loner with few friends?

The most dangerous red flag flying in our land is that of the progressive communist democrat. The people who declare criminals, crazies, and terrorist should enjoy unrestricted freedom and their rights supersede the rights of potential or actual victims.

STAND BY FOR PROGRESSIVE SCREAMING: SCOTUS IS RIGGING THE 2024 ELECTION

Be forewarned; the progressive communist democrats will attack the Supreme Court again…

This time it will be Moore v. Harper (Docket 21–1271), which the Supreme Court recently agreed to hear next term as the latest raison d'être to proclaim that the wrong decision will result in the end of democracy.

The issue is gerrymandering and how district boundaries are drawn – leaving the matter up to the state legislatures and excluding interference from the Executive and the Judiciary.

The issue is informed by the language of the U.S. Constitution, specifically the Elections Clause in Article One, which states, "The times, places and manner of holding elections for senators and representatives, shall be prescribed in each state by the legislature thereof."

The theory of the independent state legislatures doctrine implies only the state legislatures may make any decisions related to election law and prevent any actions from courts or the executive branch from challenging it.

The Supreme Court granted certiorari on June 30, 2022, and the question to be presented is…

Whether a State's judicial branch may nullify the regulations governing the "Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives . . . prescribed . . . by the Legislature thereof," U.S. CONST. art. I, § 4, cl. 1, and replace them with regulations of the state courts' own devising, based on vague state constitutional provisions purportedly vesting the state judiciary with power to prescribe whatever rules it deems appropriate to ensure a "fair" or "free" election. <Source: SCOTUS>

The trigger…

In an order entered on February 4, the North Carolina Supreme Court invalidated the North Carolina General Assembly’s congressional maps and remanded to state trial court for remedial proceedings. Rather than seek immediate review in this Court, Applicants engaged in a good-faith effort to craft a congressional map that would be valid under the state Supreme Court’s order.

Yet in an order entered on February 23, the North Carolina trial court rejected that map and instead mandated the use of a new map that had been created by a group of Special Masters and their team of assistantswho, to make matters worse, designed their own, judicially-crafted map after engaging in ex parte communications with experts for the plaintiffs. Applicants immediately sought a stay from the North Carolina Supreme Court, but that stay was promptly denied. <Source: SCOTUS>

Not only did the North Carolina Supreme Court improperly craft their own map, but they also did it in a partisan manner with the assistance of a plaintiff's experts in the absence of the opposition.

Why this is important…

As we saw in the 2020 election, the United States Supreme Court rejected hearing a similar argument from Pennsylvania. The failure of the Court to rule that electoral matters were the sole jurisdiction of the state legislature opened up a can of worms where election commissions and the courts bypassed the state legislatures to craft rules that weakened election controls and seemingly promoted election "irregularities." (i.e., election rigging)

A favorable Supreme Court ruling upholding the independent state legislatures doctrine will prevent the progressive communist democrats from interfering with the 2024 presidential election by turning to the Obama/Biden regime's Executive Branch Department of Justice, headed by the corrupt and partisan Attorney General Merrick Garland, to decide state electoral matters using their bogus "sue and settle" modus operandi or for tying up the matter with court challenges to block implementation using a partisan federal judge willing to issue a temporary restraining order.

.Already, cries of angst and charges of pre-rigging the 2024 election are filling the media…

The Supreme Court Case That Could ‘End American Democracy’
What seems like a narrow point of law could have profound consequences for American elections — including the race for the White House in 2024.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case in its fall term that has the potential to make partisan gerrymandering an unstoppable political force and gut voting rights protections. That may be a best-case scenario.

“This would be the most disruptive opinion in election law — ground shaking, groundbreaking, revolutionary, whatever word you could use,” says Douglas Spencer, a law professor at the University of Colorado. "I think it would be worse than disruptive. I think it would be destructive."

The independent state legislature theory not only cuts against the American system of checks and balances, but would deliver a blow to federalism, potentially taking state courts out of the equation when it comes to election law, leaving federal courts the only arbiter.

“The independent state legislature theory is a lawless power grab by the federal courts masquerading as deference to a romanticized vision of the state legislature that fails to take state institutional design choices seriously on their own terms,” write Leah Litman and Katherine Shaw in a forthcoming law review article. “The dangerousness and lawlessness of the independent state legislature theory are difficult to overstate.”<Source>

Another Alito leak is unnecessary…

I hope the Alito dissent is the precursor to the actual decision.

This case presents an exceptionally important and recurring question of constitutional law, namely, the extent of a state court’s authority to reject rules adopted by a state legislature for use in conducting federal elections. There can be no doubt that this question is of great national importance. But we have not yet found an opportune occasion to address the issue.

We will have to resolve this question sooner or later, and the sooner we do so, the better. This case presented a good opportunity to consider the issue, but unfortunately the Court has again found the occasion inopportune.

In my view, the applicants have shown that the question presented by this case easily satisfies our usual criteria for certiorari, see this Court’s Rule 10, and it is also likely that they would prevail on the merits if review were granted.

The Elections Clause provides that rules governing the “Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives” must be “prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof.” Art. I, §4, cl. 1 (emphasis added). This Clause could have said that these rules are to be prescribed “by each State,” which would have left it up to each State to decide which branch, component, or officer of the state government should exercise that power, as States are generally free to allocate state power as they choose.

But that is not what the Elections Clause says. Its language specifies a particular organ of a state government, and we must take that language seriously.

In this case, after North Carolina gained a seat in the House of Representatives, the North Carolina General Assembly twice adopted new congressional districting maps. But on both occasions, the State Supreme Court rejected those maps and ultimately ordered that the 2022 election proceed on the basis of a map of the court’s own creation. The court justified its actions on the ground that the General Assembly’s maps constituted partisan gerrymanders and thus violated a congeries of state constitutional provisions. But none of those provisions says anything about partisan gerrymandering, and all but one make no reference to elections at all.

The applicants, who are members of the North Carolina Legislature, contend that the State Supreme Court took it upon itself to decide the “Manner” in which the State’s congressional elections will be held and that the court therefore usurped the power that the Elections Clause confines to the “Legislature.”

The other side answers that state election laws must be interpreted and applied by the state courts, that this is what the State Supreme Court did in this case when it interpreted and applied the State Constitution, and that this Court has no authority to overrule a state supreme court’s interpretation of state law.

Both sides advance serious arguments, but based on the briefing we have received, my judgment is that the applicants’ argument is stronger. The question presented is one of federal not state law because the state legislature, in promulgating rules for congressional elections, acts pursuant to a constitutional mandate under the Elections Clause.

And if the language of the Elections Clause is taken seriously, there must be some limit on the authority of state courts to countermand actions taken by state legislatures when they are prescribing rules for the conduct of federal elections. I think it is likely that the applicants would succeed in showing that the North Carolina Supreme Court exceeded those limits. <Source: SCOTUS>

Bottom line…

While the decision should be a 9-0 affirmation of the U.S. Constitution, it is more likely to be a 6-3 decision with the Court's liberals shouting against the wind.

If the Court does screw this up, electoral chaos will become a fact of life, and we will be majorly screwed.

BEWARE OF PROGRESSIVE COMMUNIST POSEURS PLAYING CONSERVATIVES

Anyone paying careful attention to the January 6 saga has seen many radical Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and progressive communist democrat activist mischief-makers dressed as Trump supporters – most of whom were trained agitators and provocateurs. This is not uncommon as the left seeks to defame its opposition.

Opposition usually is found in two formats. 

One is the false flag operation, where one side attacks itself in such a manner as to convey the impression that their opposition assaulted them.

This is most frequently seen in self-executed hate crimes like the Jussie Smollett case, where the actor claimed he was attacked on a freezing night in Chicago at 2:40 a.m. by Trump supporters after purchasing a tuna sandwich. Of course, it was a hoax and stretched one’s credulity to believe such an attack could occur under the specified circumstances.

Other false flag attacks are better camouflaged and may not be discovered until after the political damage has been done. Some believe that the January 6 “insurrection” was a false flag attack perpetrated by the Biden regime’s intelligence and law enforcement agencies. The false flag scenario is made more credible by the Jan 6 video and the testimonial and documentary evidence that these agencies actively participated in spying on Americans associated with the Trump campaign and the various Russia and Ukraine hoaxes that resulted in two bogus impeachments.

The other one is more subtle and insidious. That’s the one based on propaganda and innuendo designed to convince the opposition that the target is universally reviled as being legitimately attacked from both sides of the political spectrum. This is the subject of today’s blog post.

The goal…

As with most progressive communist democrat political operations, the goal is to create distrust in formerly reliable American institutions. Creating the type of media-worthy chaos and lawlessness that leads to a loss of confidence by the citizenry in their government, and results in a call for a larger, more authoritarian government. Witness the progressive communist democrats attempting to disarm law-abiding citizens to limit their self-defense options, and to create a further feeling of helplessness.

Demonizing and attacking the police…

We have seen police in our cities openly attacked and injured with bullets, firecrackers, sticks, stones, rocks, cement blocks, frozen water bottles, lasers, fireworks, chemicals, and other objects at hand. Such attacks were downplayed as “mostly peaceful protests.”

Other attacks are more insidious where political activists and provocateurs mischaracterize lawful police actions into riots, and in court cases where scared politicians are afraid to support the police openly or juries are afraid of post-verdict harm should they rightfully acquit a defendant. Again, a complicit media instigates the chaos to increase their audience, revenues, and political bona fides.

In several high-profile cases, violent, drug-addled repeat offenders were hailed as martyrs in the anti-police movement when they should have been condemned as the low-life thugs they were – noting that their deaths and injuries were self-inflicted as they chose to resist or escape lawful authority. Many of these cases are based on false testimony that survives today, like the “hands up, don’t shoot” lie.

But it is getting worse…

I am now seeing the attack on the police being extended by the “defund or eliminate the police” movement – primarily trained communist elements – who claim that the right is awakening to the truth about police malevolence and misconduct by urging the conservatives to attack the police as the protectors of a malignant illegitimate government regime. Hoping that they can convince conservatives to attack the police from the right to squeeze off public support for the police. In many cases, they highlight police were punishing innocent conservatives as they protect the progressive protestors.

Attempting to whip up support for their progressive position by publicizing cases like the Matthew Meinecke case in Seattle, Washington. Meinecke, a bible-verse spouting street preacher, was accosted and arrested by ten officers but not charged by the police for proselytizing near a gay pride event. The police acted unlawfully as Meinecke’s actions were constitutionally protected on free speech and religious grounds. Yet, the event was characterized as an attack on conservatives -- as the anti-police movement noted that the police were enforcers of the administrative state – especially when enforcing nonsensical pandemic-related rules against an innocent populace attempting to live their lives and perform ordinary chores unmolested by government dictate.

The leftists are fond of pointing out that police do not protect your rights, especially under a hostile government regime. They are there to protect the regime; therefore, it stands to reason their power should be limited or eliminated. These progressive communist democrats condemn all law enforcement and make no distinction between police and sheriffs.

FYI: Police are headed by a non-elected official, have jurisdiction generally limited to the city and town in which they serve, and are funded by a municipality. Sheriffs are headed by an elected official, have jurisdiction over the entire county which may encompass cities, towns, and unincorporated territories, and are funded by the municipality.  Sheriffs are constitutional officers with a duty to the constitution above all and is more likely to enforce politically-based laws.

Bottom line…

Support law enforcement as they are the only ones putting their lives on the line to protect citizens from violent offenders even if they do not have a duty to protect individual citizens not in their custody.

It is the progressive communist democrats who support criminals over victims, are soft on crime, and are releasing violent criminals back into our communities. They are the ones pandering to minorities who commit crimes at a disproportional rate and wrongfully believe any deviation in the percentage of minority criminals from their percentage representation in the general population is a sign of racism. Since progressive communist democrats govern some of the most violent inner cities with the strictest gun control laws, they hate to be reminded they are the system they claim is racist.

Yes, there are bad cops – and they should be weeded out systematically on a case-by-case basis, from the FBI leadership to the most corrupt patrol officer.

We are so screwed when you forget you get more of what you support – support more criminals over police, and it stands to reason you get more crime, death, and destruction. You also get more crooked politicians.

How depraved is a Democrat Party that would accept the nomination of Hillary Clinton in 2024 as their presidential nominee?

Hillary Clinton is a  corrupt, lying, unindicted felon who covertly spied on Americans and successfully crippled a presidency. A despicable individual who sold her office to hostile foreign powers in quid pro quo transactions.

ThYet, here comes Doug Schoen, political pollster, pundit, consultant, and Hillary Clinton ass-kisser claiming that “Now more than ever, Democrats need Hillary Clinton” for The Hill.

Portraying Clinton as “an experienced politician and a champion of women’s rights,” Schoen posits, “Clinton will have a unique opportunity to position herself as an experienced candidate capable of leading Democrats on a more successful path who will also fight — as she has done her entire career — for women’s rights.” A suitable replacement for a declining Joe Biden, a corrupt, inept, nasty cipher controlled by Obama’s cadre of communists committed to the destruction of America from within.

Schoen ends his self-serving screed by suggesting, “If Democrats want a chance at winning the presidency in 2024, Clinton is — now more than ever — their best chance.”

How can one characterize Hillary Clinton, the person, and the politician?

Abhorrent, abominable, condemnable, contemptible, cowardly, craven, dastardly, detestable, discredited, disgraceful, disgusting, dishonorable, dishonest, disreputable, execrable, hateful, ignominious, loathsome, odious, reprehensible, reptilian, repugnant, repulsive, revolting, scandalous, shameful, shocking, sordid, sordid, unethical, unprincipled, unsavory, unscrupulous, unworthy, vile, and worthless. And there are even more descriptive words.

Bottom line…

There is little or no doubt in my mind that the Democrat Party has become the Communist Party USA. And the Republicans have become the moderate Democrat Party.

We have seen what Barack Obama and Joe Biden have done to America in a few short years. To allow Hillary Clinton or any Democrat to serve as the President of the United States is to move the nation over the tipping point for the destruction of the United States. Empowering China and Russia as global superpowers and Iran and North Korea as regional powers.

Under this scenario, we are totally and thoroughly screwed.

ANOTHER PROGRESSIVE GUN RESEARCH STUDY

And once again, an academic at a prestigious school has presented another firearms study, this time purporting to show the need for a national gun registry.

Firearm violence is a major public health crisis in the United States, where more than 200 people sustain a nonfatal firearm injury and more than 100 people die from it every day. Despite these unsettling figures, scientific research on firearm-related harm significantly lags behind because spatially and temporally resolved data on firearm ownership are unavailable. This paper presents a spatiotemporal model that predicts firearm prevalence at the resolutions of one state and one month from the numbers of background checks and suicides committed with a firearm. Drawing on principles from econometrics, the model also accounts for interactions between states. The model’s output is challenged in causal analysis, which uncovers unprecedented associations between firearm prevalence, media output on firearm regulations, and mass shootings.

[OCS: This is a nonsensical call-out as there is also a potential link between mass killings and vehicles.]

While meaningful legislation requires an understanding of how access to firearms is associated with different outcomes of harm, this knowledge also calls for accurate, highly-resolved data on firearm possession, data that is presently unavailable due to a lack of a comprehensive national firearm ownership registry.

[OCS: Criminals, crazies, and terrorists do not often purchase guns legally and do not respect nor abide by any laws. Counting firearms held by law-abiding citizens for self-defense, sport, or in collections is immaterial when considering their use by mass murderers. The new research describes a spatiotemporal model to predict trends in firearm prevalence on a state-by-state level by fusing data from two available proxies—background checks per capita and suicides committed with a firearm in a given state.

[OCS: I call bullshit! This type of half-ass correlation and prediction makes me want to shred the study. One might suggest that a better proxy would be the prevalence of street assault and the use of weapons in criminal activities. Filter for the Democrat’s gun-control-restricted governance in the inner cities, and you have a large segment of the harm caused by guns.]

The study in the journal Patterns details how by calibrating their results with yearly survey data, the researchers determined that the two proxies can be simultaneously considered to draw precise information regarding firearm ownership.

Maurizio Porfiri, a professor at the New York University Tandon School of Engineering who in 2020 received one of the first newly authorized NSF federal grants for $2 million to study the “firearm ecosystem” in the US, has spent the last few years exploring gun acquisition trends and how they relate to and are influenced by a number of factors, from media coverage of mass shootings to the influence of the sitting President.

[OCS: I see a potential funding bias. Where is the study to independently replicate, corroborate, or falsify this study? It appears that the researcher’s livelihood is dependent on gun-related research and is unlikely to pose alternative truths that run counter to the regime’s narrative.]

“There is very limited knowledge on when and where guns are acquired in the country, and even less is known regarding future ownership trends,” says Porfiri, professor of mechanical and aerospace, biomedical, and civil and urban engineering and incoming director of the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) at Tandon. 

[OCS: The trend is more crime = more guns, and needs, availability, and price control the acquisition rate and timing.]

Their study shows how their model can be used to better understand the relationships between media coverage, mass shootings, and firearm ownership, uncovering causal associations that are masked when the proxies are used individually.

While the researchers found, for example, that media coverage of firearm control is causally associated with firearm ownership, they discovered that their model generating a strong firearm ownership profile for a state was a strong predictor of mass shootings in that state.

“We combined publicly available data variables into one measure of ownership. Because it has a spatial component, we could also track gun flow from one state to another based on political and cultural similarities,” says coauthor Roni Barak Ventura, a postdoctoral researcher at Porfiri’s Dynamical Systems Lab, adding that the spatial component of the work is novel. “Prior studies looked at a correlation of two variables such as increasing background checks and an increase in gun violence.” 

[OCS: An easy test would be to study increasing background checks and rising gun-related crime in the inner cities since background checks only affect law-abiding citizens, not criminals and others who purchase weapons off the street.]

Hidden behind the academic jargon, assumptions, mathematical equations, parameterization, and graphic results, are several essential truths.

1.  Gross human behavior and the environment present so many confounding variables that cannot be addressed or controlled as to make the study little more than a sociological exercise driven by funding that inculcates its own political bias.

2.  In any large population there will always be a number of flawed individuals that will act beyond acceptable societal norms which may be based on religion, tradition, and contain internal inconsistencies and contradictions.  

Example, for those who believe body sovereignty is an absolute right, how does one reconcile the differences in matters of abortion, vaccination, or other compelled medical treatment, and the right to commit suicide in the most effective, efficient, and painless manner. In the present context, one wonders how the availability of a suicide pill would affect the number of suicide-by-gun deaths which constitutes a major component of firearms deaths?

3.  A firearm is a tool used to achieve an outcome, a force multiplier if you will. Blaming a tool as a controllable instrumentality of death or injury is to assume that other tools or force multipliers are not available -- a nonsensical assumption.

4.  Likewise, one might correlate the reduction in crime with the reduction in gun deaths and injury. Yet, the politicians are making excuses for criminals, especially minorities, and releasing repeat offenders into our community and plea-bargaining away gun charges in return for a guaranteed conviction on a lesser charge.

Bottom line...

Where is the commonsense wisdom of reducing crime and making suicide without firearms easier? Where are the media’s self-imposed restrictions on publicizing and glorifying “big gesture” killings on a 24/7 basis?

Disarming law-abiding citizens does not make them safer.

Promoting the police, who do not have a non-custodial duty to protect citizens, as a replacement for self-defense is nonsensical and may have dire consequences.

Excusing criminals based on historical wrongs is insane.

Pointing to mental illness when laws prevent protective custody is futile.

But, most of all, putting forth academic studies based on the pretense of knowledge is absolutely worthless.

MITT ROMNEY: BLIND, STUPID, AND VENGEFUL

There was a time when I believed Mitt Romney had the ethical background, education, and experience to be presidential material. He even looked and sounded presidential. I was wrong!

But, that appeared to be a hollow façade created by public relations consultants and the media. As time progressed, I could see that Romney had no guts – a basic presidential requirement to stand against one’s political enemies, and if elected, against the nation’s enemies, both foreign and domestic.

However, after two presidential campaigns in 2008 and 2012, the real Mitt Romney was the Emperor with new clothes, with everything hanging out for the world to see. Not only did Romney lack the guts to fight the progressive communist democrat opposition, but he was one of them in many ways. A liberal in disguise pushing a corrupt liberal agenda. With its dirty-trick funding from Senator Ted Kennedy, RomneyCare should have been the bright red flag as both a precursor to Obamacare and Romney’s modus operandi.

Now comes Romney trying to carve another niche in presidential politics, either as a candidate or a kingmaker. Unfortunately for Romney, and fortunately for the nation, we can see Romney for what he is – a gutless RINO (Republican In Name Only) who is an establishment denizen living in the Washington swamp.

Too many Americans are blithely dismissing threats that could prove cataclysmic.

Even as we watch the reservoirs and lakes of the West go dry, we keep watering our lawns, soaking our golf courses, and growing water-thirsty crops.

When TV news outlets broadcast video after video of people illegally crossing the nation’s southern border, many of us change the channel.

And when a renowned conservative former federal appellate judge testifies that we are already in a war for our democracy and that January 6, 2021, was a genuine constitutional crisis, MAGA loyalists snicker that he speaks slowly and celebrate that most people weren’t watching.

Truth be told, it was far less damaging than the actual riots that trained Marxist agitators across the nation instigated in an attempt to create divisions along racial lines. What accounts for the blithe dismissal of potentially cataclysmic threats? The left thinks the right is at fault for ignoring climate change and the attacks on our political system. The right thinks the left is the problem for ignoring illegal immigration and the national debt. But wishful thinking happens across the political spectrum. More and more, we are a nation in denial.

I have witnessed time and again—in myself and in others—a powerful impulse to believe what we hope to be the case. We don’t need to cut back on watering, because the drought is just part of a cycle that will reverse. With economic growth, the debt will take care of itself. January 6 was a false-flag operation. A classic example of denial comes from Donald Trump: “I won in a landslide.” Perhaps this is a branch of the same delusion that leads people to feed money into slot machines: Because I really want to win, I believe that I will win.

[OCS: With all of the unconstitutional changes to election laws and evidence yet to be tested in courts unwilling to hear election matters, there is the possibility that a man who hid in his basement while refusing to vigorously campaign did not win more votes than the more popular Barack Obama. Trump has every right to his opinion, as does Hillary Clinton, who has spent years claiming the “her election was stolen.”]

Bolstering our natural inclination toward wishful thinking are the carefully constructed, prejudice-confirming arguments from the usual gang of sophists, grifters, and truth-deniers. Watching angry commentators on cable news, I’m reminded of H. L. Mencken’s observation: “For every complex problem, there is a solution that is clear, simple, and wrong.”

When entire countries fail to confront serious challenges, it doesn’t end well. During the past half-century, we Americans have lived in a very forgiving time, and seeing the world through rose-colored glasses had limited consequences. The climate was stable, our economy dwarfed the competition, democracy was on the rise, and our military strength made the U.S. the sole global hyperpower. Today, every one of those things has changed. If we continue to ignore the real threats we face, America will inevitably suffer serious consequences.

I hope for a president who can rise above the din to unite us behind the truth. Several contenders with experience and smarts stand in the wings; we intently watch to see if they also possess the requisite character and ability to bring the nation together in confronting our common reality. While we wait, leadership must come from fathers and mothers, teachers and nurses, priests and rabbis, businessmen and businesswomen, journalists and pundits. That will require us all to rise above ourselves—above our grievances and resentments—and grasp the mantle of leadership our country so badly needs.

And, worst of all, the Democrat Party has become the Communist Party of America and the GOP the old-fashion leftist Democrats.]

DAMN THOSE USER AGREEMENTS

I am no fan of those unilateral “take ‘em or leave ‘em” terms of service agreements that convey rights, privileges, and protections to hardware and software creators while screwing users with little or no control over third-party intrusions into their hardware, software, and digital lives.

For those who do not realize it, our surveillance state was created not by the government but by the private enterprises attempting to protect their digital assets such as commercial music, video, and software—coercing hardware manufacturers to incorporate file branding and recognition into their electronic devices.

When corporate entities found that they could generate enormous profits by tracking user behavior and selling it to advertisers for cost-effective targeted advertising, our digital privacy was genuinely lost in an unregulated wilderness.

Enter the government which faced legal restrictions on the collection, storage, and use of digital information, but found there were few restrictions on purchasing commercial access to an individual’s information, including non-public personal information collected, maintained, and merchandised by non-governmental third parties.

People appeared willing to sacrifice their personal privacy for convenience, especially for “free” access to labor-saving applications and entertainment. Little did they realize that they were the product being sold to advertisers and the source of the vendor's revenue.

The pinnacle of information collection was reached with the blossoming of social media, where people seemed immune to privacy concerns and were willing to publicly chronicle their lives in detail using text and recorded entries. Personal information and details on behavior and lifestyle were shared with “pseudo friends” who could enter and follow your life with a single click.

So here we are, surveilled by the state with few privacy protections and little recourse for defamation. Our words and actions are archived in vast storage troves to be mined for proof of “intent” should a malignant regime decide that we are dissidents not supporting the regime’s narrative. 

Add that to general apathy and unwillingness to hold our representatives and third-party vendors accountable for their actions, and we are well and truly screwed.

Doing the right thing…

In a stunning display of allegiance to the United States Constitution, the Supreme Court concluded its term by righting several procedural wrongs and returning a measure of sanity to its deliberations. Also highlighted were the three liberal justices, voting as a block, demonstrating the type of muddled tortured thinking required to trash the Constitution to support their partisan agenda. Notably, the Court experienced the leak of a draft opinion, which spread anger throughout liberal-land and caused one U.S. Senator, Chuck Schumer, to rail openly on the steps of the Court, threatening two sitting Justices by name. A clear violation of the law as he attempted to interfere with an ongoing judicial process and intimidate Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh.

"I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind and you will pay the price.  You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions."

The progressive mainstream media is angry with the Court and continues to lie about the Court’s three most prominent decisions, the Dobbs decision returning the issue of abortion to the States where it rightfully belongs according to the Constitution’s Tenth Amendment, the Bruen Decision, which clarified the historical or legal understanding of the Second Amendment, and the Biden v. Texas decision, a matter dealing with administrative law and immigration that reaffirmed the President’s discretionary powers by distinguishing between obligation and discretion.

The most crucial Court decision is not so much about impeding the administration’s climate change agenda as it demands that a lazy Congress do its constitutional duty…

However, as consequential and decisive as these decisions may seem, they were eclipsed by the West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency decision, which reaffirmed the separation of powers between the Legislative and the Executive branches by curbing unilateral rule-making by Executive branch agencies without the specific direction of the Legislative branch of the federal government.

Most progressive communist democrats are going crazy after the Supreme Court ruled that the Environmental Protection Agency did not have the right to impose emissions standards on the nation unilaterally.

“Capping carbon dioxide emissions at a level that will force a nationwide transition away from the use of coal to generate electricity may be a sensible “solution to the crisis of the day.” New York v. United States, 505 U. S. 144, 187 (1992). But it is not plausible that Congress gave EPA the authority to adopt on its own such a regulatory scheme in Section 111(d). A decision of such magnitude and conse­quence rests with Congress itself, or an agency acting pur­suant to a clear delegation from that representative body.”

Why the progressive communist democrats are going crazy.

The decision demands that Congress reassert its Article II powers as the sole law-making legislative body. And that if they delegate rule-making authority to an Article I Executive Branch agency, they do it with clear intent and guidance, which spells out the limits of the agency’s power. Thus, the individual legislators are forced to vote on politically untenable issues that are likely to create controversy and consequences for those who put their ideology over the needs of the nation. 

The legislators and their staffs now have to do their homework, craft legislation beyond vague outlines, and read the bills before signing them into law lest they suffer the consequences of their actions.

And most importantly, legislators can no longer shift power to the permanent bureaucracy that resides in the so-called deep state, which is immune to periodic elections when the opposition takes control. One reason that former President Obama pushed many of his nominees into becoming bureaucrats under civil service rules and regulations.

Bottom line...

It’s about time that politicians had to work for a living, serving their constituents, or at least being accountable for their lack of diligence and poor outcomes.

It seems the progressive communist democrats were all about letting the bureaucrats make the tough choices without having to do any of the heavy lifting. Likewise, members of the GOP thought this was a swell idea as they could complain about the issue without having to craft their own legislation.

Perhaps this will also bring about the reform of Congressional rules, which exempt Congress from the consequences of its own legislation and empowers unaccountable corruption such as insider trading and relentless attacks on American citizens who participate in political dissent and processes that challenge sitting legislators?

We are so screwed.
